The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), through its Planning and Public Information Service (PPIS), successfully conducted a Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop on 28 January 2026, held both onsite at the ERC Main Office in Pasig City and via virtual platform. The activity forms part of the 90-day Cybersecurity Services Project being implemented by the PPIS–Management Information Systems Division (PPIS-MISD) to further strengthen the Commission’s information security readiness.
In her opening message, PPIS Director Heiddi Venecia R. Barrozo emphasized that cybersecurity goes beyond compliance and requires a holistic approach that integrates people, technology, and processes. She highlighted that informed and disciplined behavior from all personnel—such as proper email handling, credential protection, secure system access, and timely incident reporting—plays a critical role in safeguarding the Commission’s information assets.
Workshop facilitation and key takeaways
The workshop, facilitated by Mr. Christopher Yutan, Chief Technology Officer of Euodoo Technologies, Inc., provided participants with practical insights on current cybersecurity threats, best practices, and employee responsibilities under ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Through this initiative, the ERC reaffirms its commitment to fostering a strong cybersecurity culture, enhancing risk management, and supporting secure digital transformation across the organization.
